We are out of debt!

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Dear Friends,

For the first time in at least thirteen years, our church is debt-free. The closing documents on both the Air Harbor Road and Jefferson Road properties were signed this afternoon.

Imagine for a moment: There was a time, less than two years ago, when we were paying almost $400 every day in interest alone to the bank. I am thankful to tell you that the Lord has delivered us from that burden. Above and beyond that, He has provided us with a facility that is well-suited for ministry to our community and world.

I hope you will stop and give thanks to the Lord who has delivered us from this burden. Thank Him for those who stepped forward to bridge our financing until this transaction could close, saving us a significant amount of money along the way. Thank Him for all of those who have helped pack and load over the past ten days. Finally, would you pray that we would be good stewards of this newfound relief? The Session met last night and one of our guests made a statement that has stuck with me all day today. He said, “This sale does not get us to the finish line. It gets us to the starting line.” Indeed, it does. Pray that we would run with endurance the race set before us.

More details in the Connect later in the week. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to call any of the elders, Bryan, or me if you have any questions or concerns.

With much gratitude tonight, I am

Your friend,

Bill

The Session of Christ Community Church has called a brief but very important Congregational Meeting for Sunday, October 30th immediately following the service. The purpose is to vote on the proposed sale contract. Plan to stay after for a few extra minutes. No lunch will be served because we have our Fall Bonfire that evening. More details were included in this week’s Connect newsletter.
